wow - so much to talk about.

so today i had my very first "musical audition" for the play The Last 5 Years. it went... well wait, let me just rewind by noting that it IS a musical. and let me just say this - Joy & Music - do not go together. not even in the shower. but, Joy and a monologue, a really good and original monologue, can't be beat. so, yes, to the monologue and no, to singing. period.
i walked in, having already decided that i WAS not going to sing for them. the artistic director, Joel, who has done many great plays, both by writing and directing, informed me that, i, in fact did not have a choice but to sing something, and so, i sang the characters' song, Climbing Uphill. very nice. although not really. but it was a sympathetic and kindly "very nice" so i took it and bolted. my monologue was good though. it's from the film i worked on, called Out Of The Way - and it's currently at the Calgary Film Festival.

is it just me or does EVERYONE on St. Lawrence look like they need a bath? seriously, i hardly ever go down there anymore because it's kind of dirty, but i was there today, and wow - ya - it's a bit on the filthy side. not so much at night, but during the day, it leaves a lot to be desired. so, if there are any clean streets out there, in montreal, that i might have missed, email them to be. mount royal street is looking good. they get my props.
